Podcast
Announcing the Indie Skeptics Podcast.
Indie Skeptics is a community blog and podcast that aims to give a voice to people who don’t have a podcast of their own. It is associated with Jeff Wagg’s Indie Skeptics blog, and shares the same editorial policy.
Indie Skeptics is a project started by Jeff Wagg to give a voice to people who have something to say about skepticism, but no place to say it. Maybe they don’t have the resources to start their own blog or podcast, perhaps they only occasionally have something to say, or perhaps they want to say something that perhaps wouldn’t be appropriate for their organization – whatever the case, they have a voice here.
Call for contributions
Indie Skeptics will be driven entirely by the community. It’s designed so that anyone may make a contribution, and as such we are always looking for volunteers. If you would like to become a contributor, send an email to podcast@indieskeptics.com. Please also indicate if you would like to be added to the contributors’ mailing list.
We will accept audio contributions in any common audio format. If you would like to contribute but aren’t comfortable with making a voice recording, you can submit your contribution as text and one of our other contributors will record it for you!
What kind of contributions?
We’re looking for articles of interest to skeptics. That’s a pretty wide net we’re casting. Here are a few ideas for you to get started:
Subjects: Skepticism, skeptical activism, skeptical organisations and events, grassroots activism, science, science news, the paranormal.
Formats: Interviews, articles, panel discussions, recurring or regular segments, book reviews, on-the-spot investigative reporting, Socratic dialogue…
Basically, anything you can think of, with a 30 minute maximum length.
We are also seeking someone who can do a monthly roundup of skeptical news. If you think you have your finger on the button and can provide such a service, please let us know at the above address.
Overall format of the podcast
I’m looking at publishing articles basically any time I get them, but no more than one show per week. Short segments will be bundled together, while longer segments (15min or longer) will go out on their own.
Note that all articles will be considered the opinion solely of the author, and do not reflect the opinions or beliefs of any organisation to which they may belong.
